Blue-Collar Heroine

The days are ticking past and in a matter of hours, now, we'll be packed and on the road, leaving

Washington for good.

So given the circumstances, I did the logical thing, and bought a Barcelona chair.

And here it is, prior to my purchasing of same.

I have wanted this chair forever. And even though I know that I am now the kind of person who owns a Barcelona chair, I refuse to feel anything but unbridled GLEE because 1. It's a Barcelona chair and 2. I GOT IT AT LYNDEN CHRISTIAN THRIFT STORE FOR 95.00 BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE:
Well of course it's a knockoff. I got it for 95 bucks at Lynden Christian.

  1. All right, Spock, don't rub it in.

(I had not heard of a Barcelona chair before now, but it is now imperative that I acquire one!)

  2. I love second-hand shopping - you never know what you'll find! Our Art Deco lamp (and the hall table on which it sits), bathroom mirror, many of our books, clothes, jewellery and loads of other items we adore in our house are from charity shops, vintage shops, antiques fairs and similar... Jx

All the best for the move, safe travels!

  5. it's fabulous, and like Bohemian pointed out, it's a great price for a KNOCKOFF. And now you get a story to go with it, how you found it at this wacky little thrift store. . . .

  6. Pure class.
Even if it's not an original it has the look and the style.
I have just had a look on-line and a re-pro Barcelona Chair would cost 563 US Dollars and a original, second hand one would be upwards of 6,700 US Dollars.
You are a very stylish girl and one hell of a charity shopper and have every right to be pleased with yourself.

  7. I hear you about finding a Barcelona chair! Knockoff or a truly lucky original, you scored, sweetpea! I was the same way about finding a piece of Stickley furniture. I didn't find an original, but I did find that a company was making Craftsman/Mission style furniture using Stickley methods/designs. We bought the recliner and footstool in leather and wood we'd both been lusting after for YEARS! The joke in the family has been not only do our dishes, pots & pans, and my purses(always Coach, baby), our furniture did, too! The Krewe was well versed in quality furnishings! xoxo
